Dear member of the PMI Luxembourg Chapter,

PMI Luxembourg Chapter is holding elections for the following positions on the Board:

  • President;
  • Secretary & VP;
  • Director of Volunteers.

The roles and responsibilities for the Board of Directors and each of the above positions can be found [here].

The ongoing viability of the PMI Luxembourg Chapter depends on volunteers to occupy the above positions and to undertake the work necessary to fulfil its objectives as defined in PMI’s Charter Agreement.

In order to have a well-functioning Board and consequently, a well-functioning Chapter, each Director should expect to spend at least four hours per week on average to fulfil his/her duties.

PMI Luxembourg Chapter members in good standing, and who are members at least before November 5, 2018 are eligible to stand as candidates in this election.

Is there a perfect project Management method that apply to every organisation? How can we select the “right way” without forcing project teams to endless meetings and document updates?

These are recurrent questions that came out quite often in project management discussions. More than 100 professionals registered and participated in the organised by the PMI Luxembourg Charter event, hosted in NOVOTEL Kirchberg Hotel, in an atempt to further discuss and elaborate on them.

Six (6) teams of bright young students from the University of Luxembourg Master in Information and Computer Sciences program presented their innovative ideas and endeavours on how can Technology help Society in a way that truly adds value, in an event jointly organised by PMI Luxembourg Chapter and the University of Luxembourg on January 30, 2018.

The Luxembourg Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the leading not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession in Luxembourg, announces that its Board of Directors as of 2018 has taken office. All PMI Luxembourg Chapter members in good standing and membership since at least 15 September 2017 until present ratified the elected candidates to form the new Board. Seven new directors have been elected by their colleagues to serve as members of the BoD while two members will continue their service (they were appointed in 2017).

The PMI Luxembourg Chapter and Deloitte organized their very first event together on Thursday 9 November 2017.

Despite the challenging traffic conditions, more than 65 people made their way to Deloitte premises and were welcomed by Partner Patrick Laurent.

The audience enjoyed an interesting event dedicated to large-scale transformation projects.

On Tuesday 10.10.2017, the Luxembourg Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) had invited Erica Stocks, Director Talent and Learning Development at Goodyear Dunlop Tires, as the speaker of another exciting event: “Coaching for Growth”.

In a highly interactive training session, the experienced facilitator and certified coach presented guidlines and practice of the GROWS method for coaching.

Initially planned as a member’s only event, the Chapter had extended the invitations further out to interested participants of the Luxembourgish community who were keen to take up this opportunity to further develop their leadership skills while getting the opportunity to enhance knowledge, meeting peers and share ideas and solutions.

On 18 September, the Project Management Institute (PMI®) Luxembourg Chapter organized an event in collaboration with its Premium Chapter Sponsor, PwC Luxembourg to present their common study "How Agile are companies in Luxembourg". Additional input for the following panel discussion was provided by Agile Partners with their approach of “Being an agile company in an agile world”.

On 27 June the Luxembourg Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) hosted an event at the Chambre des Métiers on Project Assurance.

On May 29, the PMI Luxembourg Chapter hosted a presentation of Zhivka Kalaydzhieva, Auditor at the European Court of Auditors, Chamber II “Investment for cohesion, growth and inclusion”, carrying out performance and compliance audits in the field of the European Structural and Investment Funds. Zhivka Kalaydzhieva holds a Ph.D. in International Economics from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and since 2014 has joined the efforts of ECA, through audit engagements  aimed at improvements of the activities that have long-term impacts (socio-economic consequences, for example, when auditing employment projects).
